Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu went to Washington yesterday after completing his contacts in New York.

 Minister Ertuğruloğlu gave an interview to Washington National Public Radio Diplomatic reporter Michele Kelemen yesterday. Ertuğruloğlu evaluated the latest developments on the Cyprus issue and expressed that everyone desires that the negotiations will end with a fair and permanent settlement based on the equality of both sides in the island.

 Furthermore, Ertuğruloğlu stressed that besides the sides in Cyprus, the international community should also be ready for reaching or not reaching a settlement in the island adding that Turkish Cypriot people need to get rid of the embargoes and political uncertainty.
