Foreign Affairs Minister Özdil Nami said that the decision made by the Greek Cypriot Council of Ministers related to the EP elections is aimed to pull the wool over some MPs eyes within the European Union.
Foreign Minister Özdil Nami spoke to ‘Kıbrıs Postası’ regarding the approval of the draft law which would pave the way for the Turkish Cypriots who have Republic of Cyprus identity card, to be recorded in the electorate list in the South Cyprus at the European Parliament elections.
Nami said that it was impossible to put ballot boxes on the TRNC territories where the European Union Acquis was suspended and added that putting the ballot boxes in the South Cyprus was also completely contrary to democratic principles since one of the requirements of democracy was to bring the ballot box next to voters.
