Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay informed the career employees who perform within the body of the Deputy Prime Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Uğur Umar Conference Hall yesterday (8th November).

During his speech, Minister Özersay mentioned the latest statement of Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades, the Cyprus report of the UN Secretary General, the Greek Cypriot side’s attitude towards the Cyprus problem, new cooperation to be needed between the TRNC and Turkish Republic and also the existence of the UN Peace Forces on the island. At the end of his speech, Özersay answered the questions of the personnel.

Qualifying the latest statements of Anastasiades as being unfortunate, pointing out that Anastasiades said there is no need for the Turkish Cypriots to have rights on each issue at government level but to have rights only on vital issues, Özersay said that what is important is how and by whom these vital issues will be determined. Özersay also stressed that this stance of Anastasiades put forth once more that the Greek Cypriot side does not want to share their power and wealth with the Turkish Cypriots.
