In his speech at the “IV. St. George Festival” in Koruçam, President Mustafa Akıncı stated that Turks, Greeks, Maronites and the other communities live together in Cyprus and they can build a nice future together with cooperation in the island.
Indicating that not only in Koruçam but also all over the world Maronites have “brothers”, President Akıncı said that he is trying to reach a solution with the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades.
Stating that they want a peace not only for Cyprus but also for the region, the Middle East and the world, Akıncı said that he is hopeful to reach a settlement in 2016 and he considers that this negotiation process is the “last chance”.
Mentioning that their aim is to create a nice future for the next generations, Akıncı emphasized that if all peoples and cultures living in Cyprus unite their forces and work together, a nice future can be created.
