Akıncı: “Some environments in South Cyprus try to lead the negotiation table”

President Mustafa Akıncı said that some environments in South Cyprus try to lead the negotiation table and their messages should not be taken seriously.

Speaking at an activity, President Akıncı said that it is their duty to establish a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation.

Criticizing the statements of some environments in South Cyprus, Akıncı said that especially in the latest days, some environments in South Cyprus and the Greek Cypriot press try to lead the negotiations by their false statements. Adding that they will be in line with the principles of the European Union in the efforts to find a solution in Cyprus, President Akıncı said “There are UN parameters in the Joint Statement dated 11 February 2014 which include bi-zonal, bi-communal federation. In this sense, EU principles are important but the lessons taken from the past are also important. We should establish a better future. I want to underline that people should take into consideration the messages we give not the statements and speculations suggested by the Greek Cypriot press”.
