President Mustafa Akıncı stated that the parties differently interpreted the bi-zonality in Cyprus, but the future should be built to take a lesson from the past.
“Our region is in a chaotic environment. In the present situation, the region needs a good example as well. From this chaotic environment there is a conjuncture from which some good examples can be realized such as unification, integration, cooperation, win together, being unifier instead of being discriminator and to create win-win situations.” Akıncı said.
President Mustafa Akıncı who delivered the Eastern Mediterranean University’s 2015 – 2016 Academic Year’s first lesson entitled “The Place of Universities in the Cyprus Conflict” reminded that some alternatives are available other than a federal structure in Cyprus and he gave the issues of Azerbaijan and Karabağ as examples.
