President Mustafa Akıncı and the US Secretary of State John Kerry had a very fruitful and comprehensive meeting regarding the future of Cyprus yesterday.
Following his meeting with Kerry, Akıncı made a press statement. In his statement, Akıncı stressed: “The US has proved once more that they are willing for the solution of the Cyprus issue and also decided to help us to solve the Cyprus problem. I am very pleased for the meeting.”
Furthermore, Akıncı added that the US support in such a process is very important in terms of providing stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkish-Greek relations, and Turkish-European relations and also in terms of developing the relations of the United Federal Cyprus with Turkey.
