President Mustafa Akıncı’s New York contacts are continuing within the framework of the UN General Council.
Akıncı will meet with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon today. Following the meeting, President Akıncı will make a statement and reply to the questions of press members.
Furthermore, Akıncı’s meeting with the Secretary of State John Kerry is expected to be held today.
Today, Akıncı will also meet with the Foreign Minister of Oman Sultanate Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah.
Yesterday, Akıncı had a meeting with New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully within the framework of his New York visit.
During the meeting, President Akıncı expressed the sensitivities of the Turkish Cypriot side regarding the negotiation process and also the stage reached at Cyprus negotiations. Foreign Minister Emine Çolak accompanied Akıncı during the meeting.
Yesterday evening, President Akıncı also attended the reception hosted in the honor of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Prime Ministers and Foreign Ministers and exchanged views with the participants from the other states.
Following the reception, Akıncı attended the dinner hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
Akıncı will meet with OIC Secretary General Medeni tomorrow.
Akıncı’s New York contacts will end on 4th October, Sunday.
