Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated that they wish a fair and permanent solution of the Cyprus problem and to hold a referendum as soon as possible because this is the last chance and they do not want to miss this opportunity.
President Mustafa Akıncı and Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a joint press meeting at the Presidency. In his speech during the joint press meeting, Çavuşoğlu expressed his gratitude for being a part of the 64th Government of the Turkish Republic and paying his first visit to the TRNC.
Furthermore, expressing that the Turkish Republic and AK Party Leadership supports a permanent solution in Cyprus and will continue to support it, Çavuşoğlu stressed their satisfaction for the stage of the negotiations.
Adding that continuing negotiations, meeting of both leaders and the stage reached in the negotiations makes them hopeful, Çavuşoğlu reminded that the leaders held 6 meetings in the month of November.
Stressing that the TRNC has taken steps on the issue of confidence building measures and Turkey is giving the necessary support on the issue, Çavuşoğlu said that their support regarding the confidence building measures to bring the two communities closer will continue.
