Çolak held contacts in Germany

Foreign Minister Emine Çolak who held a series of high level contacts in the capital of Germany, Berlin, met with Germany’s Minister for Europe Michael Roth.

Çolak who conveyed the final stage of the negotiation process in Cyprus to Roth expressed her wish that although the difficult issues have been reached in the process, both sides will obtain comprehensive development on the issues of the EU, economy and property up to May.

Çolak also conveyed that the Turkish Cypriot side which has the desire to reach an agreement in 2016 will rapidly concentrate on the remaining issues following the elections in South Cyprus.

Minister Çolak also held a series of contacts with important members of the government and opposition parties in the German Federal Parliament within the framework of her contacts in Germany.

In this context, Minister Çolak also met with the SPD deputy and the EU Commission Vice-President of the Federal Parliament Achim Barchmann and SDP deputy and member of the Federal Parliament Foreign Relations Commission Dietmar Niet.

Çolak also emphasized the importance of the political and technical support of Germany in the EU.
