Cooperation protocol signed
A cooperation protocol was signed between the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs today. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Özdil Nami and the Turkish Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu signed the cooperation protocol.
Speaking before the signing ceremony, Foreign Minister Nami expressed his satisfaction for hosting the Turkish Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in the TRNC.
Moreover, adding that Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs has wide knowledge, FM Nami said “It is clear that we need to benefit from this wide knowledge”.
In his speech, Çavuşoğlu expressed his satisfaction for being in the TRNC. Adding that he met with Nami 10 years ago when he was defending the interests of the Turkish Cypriots in the international arena, Çavuşoğlu said that he is very pleased for working together with FM Nami since that time.
Moreover, stating that as the Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs, they give full support to the studies of TRNC made at the presence of the EU, Çavuşoğlu said that the protocol which was signed is a proof of their support.
It was also stated that the protocol was signed with the aim of developing cooperation between the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish Ministry of EU Affairs regarding the process of EU accession and alignment with the acquis.
