It has been stated that diplomatic maneuver made by the leader of Greek Cypriot administration Nikos Anastasiadis by accepting the details of natural gas issue to be discussed at the last stage of the negotiations failed with the renewal of NAVTEX and the Greek Cypriot administration was trapped with this proposal of Anastasiadis.
Political parties have harshly criticized Anastasiadis whose maneuver has been evaluated as a concession. The European MP Eleni Theoharus has also harshly criticized Anastasiadis.
