According to the news of the Greek Cypriot radio, the UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide, in his statement after the meeting with the Greek Cypriot Leader Nikos Anastasiades, repeated his opinion that the next months are very critical in terms of the solution of the Cyprus problem.
Stating that no timeframes had been set, Eide said: “I am very happy to hear the leaders say repeatedly that there is no time to lose”. In the continuation of his statement, stating that he will make contacts about the Cyprus problem at the UN headquarters in New York, Eide said that efforts will be made to support the solution of the Cyprus problem economically.
Eide pointed out that a lot of work needs to be done in a short time.
According to the Greek Cypriot news sources, Eide added that the negotiation process is expected to be intensified as of November.
