UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide said that Güzelyurt issue is not being discussed at the negotiation table at this time however, territorial arrangements and regional issues will be negotiated at the end stage of the talks. President Mustafa Akıncı and the UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide had a meeting. In his statement to the press following the meeting yesterday, Eide said that he did not expect to discuss the issue of Güzelyurt during their next meeting because some other issues are in the forefront at the negotiations.

Stating that they had a fruitful meeting with Akıncı concerning the Cyprus negotiations, Eide expressed his contentment for the imposition of blackout to the press by both leaders at the previous meeting.
