The UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide is coming to the island on 13 January for two days.

According to the written statement of the UN Secretary-General’s Mission of Good Offices in Cyprus; aim of Eide is to listen to both leaders opinions on dead- end of negotiations and to obtain their hopes on the solution of these”.

According to the statement, Edie is planning to prepare for the briefing he has to give to the Security Council on 26th of January.

According to the statement Eide is carrying on being in contact with all related actors and called for focus on restarting the negotiations until his visit.

Eide will depart from the island on 14 January.
