TRNC Foreign Affairs Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu congratulated Natalie Süleyman, who was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Victoria.

“I am very pleased that Natalie Süleyman, the daughter of a Turkish Cypriot family settled in Australia, has been elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament as a Muslim and Turkish Member of Parliament for the first time in the history of the state of Victoria.

After being elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly as a member of parliament in 2014, the election of Süleyman as Vice Speaker of the Victorian Parliament has made the Turkish Cypriot people, especially our women, proud. I sincerely congratulate Süleyman and wish her success in her new position.”
