Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu departs for New York today as part of an official visit to the 71st United Nations General Assembly.

Minister Ertuğruloğlu will attend and address the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) annual Council of Foreign Ministers’ session and a meeting held by the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is an observer member of the OIC and the ECO. Alongside the OIC and ECO meetings, Minister Ertuğruloğlu will hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers, state representatives and UN officials who will be in New York for the UN General Assembly.

Following his official visit to New York, Minister Ertuğruloğlu will travel to Washington to meet with high-level officials from the USA, as well as representatives from think tanks and the media.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mustafa Lakadamyalı, First Secretary Serap Destegül and Ministry Officer Denil Ertuğ are accompanying Minister Ertuğruloğlu during his visit to the United States of America.
