The Minister of Foreign Affairs Özdil Nami pointed out that Cyprus problem turns 50 years old and said ‘ 50 years is more than enough’.

FM Nami and the Turkish Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu attended the conference organized by ‘Academy Cyprus Development Platform’ under the title of ‘Cyprus towards a solution’ as speakers.

In his speech, stating that Turkish Cypriots suffered a lot, exposed to losses and agony and they struggled against many difficulties for years, FM Nami said that Cyprus problem has gained speed for reaching a comprehensive solution in the island and their aim and effort is towards changing this fate and creating a united Cyprus where the Turkish and Greek Cypriots will live together in peace.
Moreover, expressing that the opportunity which came out for a solution of the Cyprus problem should be used, Nami said “We do not have the luxury to miss the opportunities any more because we can not tolerate 50 years more or even one day more for the Cyprus problem which is affecting our lives negatively.”
