Minister of Foreign Affairs Özdil Nami stated that US Vice President Joe Biden’s Cyprus visit will be historical and fruitful.
Stating that US’s aim is to invite sides to speed up and intensify the negotiations, FM Nami said that essential aim of Biden’s Cyprus visit is to motivate sides and added “ I hope Biden’s visit will be fruitful for the whole island and both sides will get advantage of it”.
Moreover, expressing that US has shown a great interest for Cyprus problem as in the Annan Plan process after 10 years break, FM Nami said that this was realized especially with the positive atmosphere occured by the joint statement. Nami also pointed out that according to the US authorities, there is a positive atmosphere in terms of internal balances in Cyprus to reach a comprehensive solution.
