Foreign Minister Özdil Nami started his contacts in Germany yesterday.
Within the framework of his contacts Minister Nami first met with Social Democrat Party Parliamentarian and the member of German Parliament Foreign Relations Commission Dietmar Nieman.

Negotiations process continuing in Cyprus was taken up at the meeting which took place in the German Social Democrat Party Building. Foreign Minister Nami conveyed German Parliamentarian Nieman expectations of the Turkish Cypriot side and their vision for a solution.

Within the context of the EU, our demands related to the approaching European Parliament Elections and to the program for the Turkish Cypriot Side’s harmonization to the acquis communautaire were taken up at the meeting and what can be done by Germany regarding these subjects was also discussed.

Both sides expressed common opinion about the regional positive effects of a solution to be reached with the interest and support of the international community to the negotiations going on in the island.

Minister Nami also met Co-President of the German Greens Party, member of the Federal Parliament Cem Özdemir at the Party Headquarters. Cyprus problem, harmonization program of the Turkish Cypriots to the acquis communautaire and the European Parliament Elections were taken up at the meeting.
