Greek Cypriot side reacts to German Minister Roth
The Greek Cypriot daily Fileleftheros reported that the German Minister for EU Affairs Michael Roth met with the Greek Cypriot Foreign Minister Yoannis Kasulidis the day before and in order to ensure the cooperation of Turkey in the refugee problems that the EU faced, Roth demanded from South Cyprus to accept opening the two EU negotiation chapters of Turkey.
According to the news, Roth expressed that South Cyprus should give approval for the opening of 23 and 24 numbered EU negotiation chapters of Turkey adding that the European Commission should implement Turkey’s action plan.
The Fileleftheros also noted that despite Roth met with Foreign Minister Emine Çolak a few days ago in Berlin and the meeting was reacted by the Greek Cypriot government, Roth was received by the Greek Cypriot Leader Nicos Anastasiades yesterday.
