The Head of the European Union delegation to Turkey Hansjörg Haber stated that delaying the 2015 Progress Report was a correct decision.

Following the statement of the EU Progress Report, Haber arranged a press meeting at the European Union Delegation Building in Ankara and stated that the report was delayed with the common decision of the President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and the commission members.

Stating the reasons for delaying the report which was planned to be issued on 14 October, Haber said “This report is not only related to Turkey but it is also related to all countries which are in the membership process. Therefore, all these countries are worried for the refugees and immigration as much as Turkey. Turkey was dealing with the elections and it was not possible to deal with this issue. Therefore, we consider that delaying the report was a correct decision”.
