Hrisostomos II: “We love Muslims but they come after us”
The Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church Hrisostomos II said, “We love Muslims but they come after us.”
According to the news of the Greek Cypriot daily Fileleftheros, after his meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Hrisostomos II said, “We had a very nice meeting, I explained to Lavrov that the original inhabitants of the Middle East are the Christians.” Furthermore, Hrisostomos II added that: “The Arabs came after us in the 7th century. Minorities cannot be allowed to stay instead of the original inhabitants. We love Muslims, we want to live together, we lived together for centuries but we condemn radicalism, we do not want radicalism to dominate. We support the position of the Russian Government because if the radicals and the minorities in the Middle East become hegemony, the Christians cannot live in their ancestors’ land.”
