“Identification is accurate but some small bones were accidentally related with Foris’s remains”

In the statement made by the Committee of Missing Persons, it has been stated that right after the arguments that “bones belong to other 3 missing persons were given to the family of missing Yeorgios Foris together with Foris’s bones”, the experts who came to the Island to analyze the subject, confirmed that the identification of Foris is accurate but some small bones were accidentally related with remains of Foris.

Two independent experts proposed by International Red Cross Committee, have analyzed the bones of Georgios Foris between 2-5 March, and also revised the procedures related to the complicated facts.

In the statement the Missing Persons Committee accepted the findings of the experts and expressed their apologies to the family and noted that the bones which didn’t belong to Foris were taken by the Committee for identification.
