Minister of Foreign Affairs Özdil Nami met with UK Minister of State for Justice and Civil Liberties and Deputy Leader of Liberal Democrats the Rt. Hon. Simon Hughes MP in London yesterday.
During the meeting between the two Ministers, issues pertaining to the Cyprus problem and the current negotiation process were discussed. Minister Nami explained the reasons behind the current stalemate in the negotiation process and stated that the main problem is the rejection by Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiades of the convergences previously reached between the former leaders in Cyprus, namely Talat and Christofias. Nami emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot side has already accepted these convergences.
