Ministry of EU: “We welcome Turkey’s Progress Report as being more comprehensive”
The Ministry of EU stated that they welcomed that Turkey’s proposals were taken into consideration in Turkey’s 2015 Progress Report. It was also stated that the legal and rightful critics in the report were noted carefully and they will be used as a constructive factor in progress of Turkey’s EU process and reform works.
In the statement of the Ministry of EU related to the 2015 Progress Report of Turkey, it was reminded that the report was issued for all candidates and potential candidate countries including Turkey. It was also reminded that the report is the 18th. Progress Report since the year 1998.
Furthermore, it was pointed out that Turkey’s high level contacts with the EU are continuing intensively to develop Turkey-EU relations and a convenient basis has been established to develop the relations with all dimensions.
It was also underlined that the issues regarding the development of the accession negotiations which constitute the base of the Turkey-EU common agenda, Freedom of Visa Dialogue, Turkey’s taking place in EU Summits, updating Customs Union, close cooperation in strategic fields especially for the energy issue, taking immediate and decided steps to lead the refugee issue, have greater importance than ever.
