Missing Martyr Ahmet Naim Beyaz who was martyred on 22 July 1974 in Paphos and the remains found in an excavation by the Committee on Missing Persons, was buried with a ceremony at Lefkoşa Cemetery yesterday.
Speaking at the ceremony the President of the Association of Martyrs Families and War Veterans, Ertan Ersan stated that missing martyr Beyaz was born in 1906 and when he died, he was 68 years old.
Ersan said that while he was driving a bus, Beyaz was killed by a Greek Cypriot on 22 July 1974.
Ersan also gave information about the number of the missing persons and said that 493 people are recorded as missing from 1955 to 1974 and 149 of them were buried after identification.
