Nothing found in search for Greek commandos’ remains

It was stated that digging, which was started at Lakatamia cemetery on Sunday to find the bodies of Greek commandos who were shot down by friendly fire of Greek Cypriot forces at NORATLAS military transport aircraft which took off from Greece on 22 July 1974 during Cyprus Peace Operation, ended yesterday and nothing was found.

Greek Cypriot daily Politis noted that nothing was found during excavations for remains of 33 Greek commandos. It was also noticed that excavation works were done 41 years after the event and the process given to the South Cyprus by the European Court of Human Rights to find the bodies of Greek commandos.
