President of the Greek Cypriot Parliament, Yiannakis Omirou, defended that they, as the Greek Cypriots, should emphasize that a settlement that includes guarantees cannot be put to a referendum. Omirou also argued that some aspects of the Cyprus problem should be discussed with Turkey. Speaking to the Greek Cypriot daily Alithia, Omirou made some evaluations about the Cyprus problem. According to the news which indicates that 41 years passed from 1974, Omirou argued that the bi-communal dialogue about the internal dimensions of the Cyprus problem is a right move, however it is a mistake that the dialogue covers all topics.
