Presidency: “European Parliament’s decision is partial and deceptive”
The TRNC presidency made a statement on the European Parliament’s decision regarding missing persons and for condemning Turkley. According to the statement: “The massacres that took place in Muratağa, Atlılar, Sandallar and Terazi-Tatlısu-Taşkent in which 126 Turkish Cypriot civilians including women, aged persons and children were killed by the Greek Cypriots are not mentioned in the European Parliament’s decision which is a proof that it is partial and deceptive.”
“As it is known, there are 493 civilian missing people among the Turkish Cypriots who became missing between the years 1963 and 1974. The largest portion of the Greek Cypriot missing persons, however, was soldiers who killed in the war. Disregarding the massacres that took place in Muratağa, Atlılar, Sandallar and Terazi-Tatlısu-Taşkent in which 126 Turkish Cypriot civilians including women, aged persons and children were killed by the Greek Cypriots in the European Parliament’s unilateral decision is a proof that it is partial and deceptive.”
