Regarding Evacuated Citizens from Gaza
We have been continuing our efforts to evacuate Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizens and their families from Gaza via Egypt. Those who are in Gaza and want to leave the region due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine and evacuation efforts, facilitated by Türkiye are ongoing for those who have reached either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs call center and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, as well as its Representative Offices in the region.
So far, 343 TRNC citizens and their first-degree family members have applied to the Ministry’s call center for evacuation, and their names has been shared with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye. According to our records, 86 TRNC citizens who had applied to our Ministry crossed to Egypt via the Rafah Border Gate, together with the citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, and reached Istanbul via flights from Cairo. Some of these citizens also have the citizenship of the Republic of Türkiye. The Consulate General of the TRNC in Istanbul is in contact with our citizens who have been temporarily accommodated in state guesthouses and hotels by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), and who are also provided subsistence services. Up until now, there has been no request for the transfer of the evacuated citizens to our country.
We will continue our efforts to complete the evacuation of all our citizens in Gaza safely and as soon as possible.
