Regarding the statement made by the Greek Cypriot Ministry of Defense yesterday.

We have been bringing to the attention of the public and the international community on every occasion that the Greek Cypriot Administration has been increasing its armament and military activities for a long time. According to the statement made by the Greek Cypriot Ministry of Defense yesterday (May 7, 2023), the Greek Cypriot Administration, with the participation of some countries, will carry out an activity including warplanes on 7-11 May 2023. We strongly condemn this provocation of the Greek Cypriot Administration.

We also remind the participating countries that they should refrain, knowingly or unknowingly, from being a part of the armament and aggressive policies of the Greek Cypriot Administration and that they should instead advise the Greek Cypriot Administration to establish an environment of stability and peace in the region and the Island.

We would also like to warn that during this provocative military activity, in which warplanes and helicopters will fly at low altitudes, violations of the sovereignty rights of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the buffer zone must be absolutely avoided. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will not remain silent about the violation of its sovereign rights and will take the necessary measures together with the Republic of Türkiye for the protection of our rights.

We hope that especially the United Nations Peacekeeping Force, will not remain silent regarding the increasing armament and military activities of the Greek Cypriot Administration, which has disrupted the stability and peace environment of the international community.
