Hüseyin Özgürgün
Hüseyin Özgürgün was born in 1965 in Nicosia. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1988. He received English Literature and Administrative Science education in Clare College, Cambridge University. He served as national sportsman and sports administrator in various sports clubs. At 1998 and 2003 General Elections and at 2005 Early General Elections he was elected as National Unity Party MP for Nicosia. During the years 1998-2003 he served as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe. In 2006 he was elected as the leader of National Unity Party (UBP) and performed this duty almost a year. At April 2009 Early General Elections he was reelected as UBP MP for Nicosia and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the Early General Elections held in July 28, 2013 he was elected for the fifth time. In August 31, 2013 he became the leader of his party for the second time. He is married and has two children.
