Faiz Sucuoğlu, Minister of Tourism, within the frame work of his contacts in Antalya, met with the board members of the Corendon Airlines, which bring approximately twenty thousand tourists to North Cyprus per year. Minister Sucuoğlu and Şahap Aşıkoğlu, undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, had a long meeting with chairman of Corendon Airlines, Yıldıray Karaer and company officials. Minister Sucuoğlu noted that they put forward alternative solutions for the challenges that Corendon has been facing.

Saying that they would do their utmost to solve the problems, Sucuoğlu stated that they had negotiated about job opportunities and conditions, and a project to be launched in 2016.

Indicating that the Corendon Airlines are important in boosting North Cyprus’ tourism and their meeting was positive, Sucuoğlu emphasized that they are ready to do whatever they can to improve the country’s tourism. Yıldıray Karaer, Chairman of Corendon Airlines, stated that they manage to bring approximately twenty thousand tourists to North Cyprus despite oppression by the Greek Cypriots.

Sucuğlu also met with Çetin

Faiz Sucuoğlu, Minister of Tourism, within the framework of his contacts in Antalya, also met with Davut Çetin, President of Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). Speaking at the meeting, Çetin indicated that they are ready for all kinds of co-operation with the TRNC in the tourism sector and said: “Antalya and the TRNC are two popular tourism destinations which offer different kinds of natural wealth. We can obtain joint achievements by combining our wealth”. Çetin said: “Collaboration will be beneficial for the tourism of not only Antalya, but of North Cyprus as well”.

Faiz Sucuoğlu, Minister of Tourism, also invited the tourism committee under the leadership of the ACCI from Antalya to the TRNC. Sucuoğlu said: “We should come together and discuss on which issues we can collaborate as soon as possible and take concrete steps”.
