Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu received a delegation of students from Newcastle University, United Kingdom.

On the occasion, Minister Ertuğruloğlu delivered a briefing to the visiting students at the Uğur Umar Conference Hall of the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on the Cyprus issue and recent regional developments

The Minister outlined the Turkish side’s vision regarding the Cyprus issue which is based on the recognition of sovereign equality and equal international status. He emphasized that the Cyprus issue is, in essence, a matter of status and noted that negotiations which began in 1968 have consistently failed due to the misdiagnoses and biased approach of the international community
