Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu received a delegation from the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s National Defence Commission, headed by Hulusi Akar. The meeting reaffirmed Türkiye’s steadfast support for a two-state solution based on sovereign equality while also addressing bilateral relations and regional developments.
In his remarks, Minister Ertuğruloğlu emphasized the importance of maintaining sovereign equality and reiterated the enduring support of Türkiye.
Furthermore, he stated that the Greek Cypriot leadership “must abandon outdated aspirations,” emphasizing that available solution depends not on withdrawal of Turkish troops, but on the recognition of the sovereign equality of the Turkish Cypriot people.
Hulusi Akar reiterated that “Cyprus is a national cause,” adding that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of Turkish Cypriots.
