Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu received and held talks with military attachés from quest countries who were in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to observe the Martyr Lieutenant Caner Gönyeli – 2026 Search and Rescue Exercise. The Exercise was conducted with the participation of civilian and military personnel from the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Search and Rescue Organisation.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting held at the Ministry was attended by military officials from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Libya, Rwanda, The Gambia, Zambia, Sierra Leone and Somalia. During the meeting, Minister Ertuğruloğlu briefed the military delegation on the Cyprus issue, highlighting that Türkiye’s effective and de-facto guarantorship remains indispensable for the Turkish Cypriot people
