Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu receives German MP Krah

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu received Maximilian Krah, a member of the Bundestag (the German Federal Parliament) for the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), who is in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on a working visit at the invitation of the Republic Assembly.

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu responded questions from the German MP, by providing a comprehensive assessment of the Cyprus issue from a historical perspective. He also briefed Krah on the Turkish Cypriot side's vision of sovereign equality and a two-state solution.

Addressing the work of the Immovable Property Commission (IPC), Ertuğruloğlu recalled that the IPC has been recognized by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) as an effective domestic remedy. He noted, however, that the Greek Cypriot administration continues to resort to unlawful arrests in connection with property related matters and persists in efforts aimed to undermining the TRNC economy.
