Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay has taken over his duties following a handover by former Foreign Minister, Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu.

In addition to taking on the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kudret Özersay has also assumed the duty of Government Spokesman on behalf of the CTP-HP-TDP-DP coalition government.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Özersay thanked Ertuğruloğlu for his services to the country.

He said: “I hope to fulfil this duty – which I take on as a duty, not as authority – in the best interests of our country and our people. This is our objective. There is no doubt that we will defend the just interests of the Turkish Cypriot people and the country, within the framework of the policies set by the government. We will give our utmost to perform this duty”.
