Indicating that all confidence building measures proposed by the Greek Side are based on the reinstitution of Maraş, Nami said that Turkish Cypriot side considers Maraş as part of a comprehensive solution. Reminding that it was not possible to complete the preliminary work regarding Maraş and Mağusa Port when US Deputy President Joe Biden came to Cyprus, Nami said that the Greek Cypriot side reacted to the balanced studies of Americans related to the issue.

Nami said: “The reason of Maras being closed is the ‘no’ vote of the Greek side at the 2004 referendum” Expressing that the projects which support a comprehensive solution can be diversified Nami added that these should be projects which can immediately affect daily life positively and pointed out to the projects of Chambers of Commerce and the Football Federation.
